Writing books on continuous improvement is fun, talking about it is even more fun! Following on from our book and blogs, we are therefore launching our first podcast: The taste of perfection
In this podcast, we discuss continuous improvement and the pursuit of perfection with interesting guests. The podcasts give a nice depth to our book. Where the book focuses mainly on the philosophy and approach of continuous improvement, in the podcast we deepen this story by talking about the change management side. And that from different, sometimes surprising angles.
What does perfection actually mean? Is perfection something positive or negative? How do you make sure you get the best out of yourself, a team and organisation? How do you deal with the knowledge that you may never achieve perfection? And most importantly, what can organisations learn from people looking at the subject from these different backgrounds? No management language, but lessons from practice to get moving.
The first podcast is now available. With our book in hand, we take you through our take on this topic and how to make improvement steps on this as an organisation.
Other episodes will follow soon! For example, we spoke to Stefan Verhoeven - general manager of Miele Netherlands - about how Immer Besser in the capillaries of the organisation and how he, too, gives substance to this from his role every day. It is very interesting what manufacturing refurbished appliances does to your view of perfection.
We had another fascinating conversation with Zoë Lensen. She is head chef of Sal do Mar in Rhenen, which was named 'Surprise of the Year' in 2019 by restaurant guide Gault&Millau. Zoë was in the kitchen of Sergio Herman's Ciel Bleu and Oud-Sluis as a young woman and also won the Silver Chef's Knife when she was 22. She knows the ropes in gastronomy. The industry where the pressure to perform is always high. Nice to hear her practical and down-to-earth views on perfection and continuous improvement.
Also following are interesting interviews with a youth worker/producer, nursing staff, a top hockey star and a behaviourist, among others.
So listen to our first podcast soon! It can be found both on Spotify as YouTube and subscribe for free, so you don't miss anything from these engaging conversations.
