Improven strengthens Data Driven proposition with Boudewijn van den Dool

Boudewijn van den Dool has joined Improven as managing consultant from 1 January. He will strengthen the team of partner Ramon van den Heuvel, where he will give further impetus to the 'Data Driven' theme.

Van den Dool brings extensive experience in data, business intelligence and business analytics to his new role. He makes the move from ConQuaestor Finance Professionals, where he was active for no less than sixteen years. During those years, he worked for Unilever, AkzoNobel and Danone, among others.

The brand-new managing consultant is looking forward to serving the clients of Improven help further in the field of data-driven decision making. "Data-driven decision making has been a hot topic for some years now," says Van den Dool. "Everyone is talking about it and many organisations are making efforts to base their decisions much more on data and much less on feelings."

In this, most organisations could still use some help, he explains: "Many people think of data-driven decision making mainly in terms of smart technological solutions and algorithms, while many more aspects are important. Such as, for example, a corporate culture that actually enables data-driven decision making, the example set by senior management, data quality, various competences among employees and simply good ideas."

"Incidentally, there is no 'one best way' for implementing data-driven decision making," he stresses. "Organisations are not at the same stage of maturity and it is therefore best to develop their own roadmap. Improven is in an excellent position to help with this and develop organisations in the various areas. For example, Improven has developed the Data Quality Scan, which can very well be used to map the current quality of data and governance."

In any case, there will be no lack of challenges in the coming period for Van den Dool: "I am sure that the move to Improven will give me the opportunity to fulfil my ambitions in the field of business analytics. I'm ready for it and I'm really looking forward to it!"

"Strengthening more data-driven working within organisations is one of Improven's core activities. We are delighted with Boudewijn's arrival," van den Heuvel said.
