Manpowergroup Talent Solutions TAPFIN

Manpowergroup Talent Solutions TAPFIN (MPG TAPFIN) has been procured by UPS Small Package, an international logistics service provider, to achieve strategic workforce planning including cost savings for the Netherlands. This requires process optimisation and system implementation.

Our approach

To realise the client's wish, IMPROVEN's Joanneke Buizer, as project leader and content expert, mapped the current processes and drew up a SOLL situation. In addition, a cost savings programme was drawn up, in which the organisation can realise both cost savings, and cost avoidance.
These processes were then defined in a requirement document for the system design. The originally English system was adapted to Dutch standards and legislation, and the new process was incorporated into it.
The stakeholder field consisted of various parties: MPG TAPFIN, UPS, the employment agencies and the temporary workers. There was a lot of resistance to this change from various quarters. Joanneke drafted and implemented a change management plan for this in connection with the stakeholders.
After developing and delivering various training courses and after careful transfer to the business, the project was completed.

Result

IMPROVEN's Joanneke Buizer has enabled MPG TAPFIN to organise the scheduling of all UPS Small Package's hiring staff at all sites in the Netherlands through a single point of contact. This leads to a more efficient, insightful and standardised process for both parties. This process is supported by dasboarding and reports to enable further development and steering.

This approach contributed to three key client objectives:

  • Established efficient, standardised processes
  • Established 'cost control' programme worth €800,000 per year
  • Implemented WMS (Workforce Management System) with set-up documentation
