During the Young IMPROVEN spring meeting, our young professionals rolled up their sleeves for a day at the care nursery Groen! The old flower and vegetable nursery is now a day care centre for the elderly and (young) adults in Amsterdam.
While doing chores for Care Nursery Green, such as planting potatoes, weeding and preparing soil for new cultivation, a creative photo bingo was organised. This made for a lot of fun and original moments together.
What made this afternoon so special? Not everyone had experience of working in a (care) nursery but that very fact provided new insights and skills. Nice to see how everyone set to work with full energy. In a short time, we all made great progress for the Care Nursery, something that was also received with great enthusiasm at the Care Nursery. We ended the day relaxed with pizza and drinks. An ideal way to clear your head after a busy working day!
What do you learn from such a day?
Working together, taking responsibility for a joint job and experiencing the value of contributing to a social challenge. But also: how important fun, creativity and team spirit are.
We are therefore very grateful to Zorgkwekerij Groen for making us welcome for this activity and are convinced that we were able to make a nice contribution. Highly recommended to other organisations looking for a meaningful and valuable team activity.
