Our Secondary Education (OMO) is an association of more than 60 secondary schools, mainly in North Brabant, and is the largest in the Netherlands with an annual turnover of €700 million. The staff at the OMO office in Tilburg provide support to these schools and the Board of Directors. Driven professionals in the fields of education, legal affairs, accommodation, human resources and finance take care of everything, advise and facilitate the schools. They work enthusiastically every day and contribute to the future of pupils.

Your role

The financial administration department at Ons Middelbaar Onderwijs works with AFAS and is responsible for, among other things, accounts receivable and accounts payable, the general ledger, cash and liquidity management, and the management of suspense accounts.

Within the team, the current phase focuses on organising change. Thanks to a renewed vision on business operations, a solid foundation has been laid for further professionalisation, with financial management playing an essential role. In your position as team leader, you will guide this development. You will lead a dedicated team of seven colleagues at the central OMO office, which serves as the foundation for various organisational improvements. In doing so, you will not only supervise and facilitate your own team, but also ensure that schools are properly involved in new financial working methods and process changes.

  • Salary scale 10 CAO VO, depending on your knowledge and experience between €3,326 and €5,520 (based on full-time = 36.86 hours).
  • A year-end bonus of 8.33%.
  • An end-of-school-year allowance (pro rata €500 gross) and, where applicable, an October allowance.
  • Pension accrual via the Pension Fund for Health and Social Welfare.
  • 6.5 weeks of holiday, with the option to build up additional holiday leave (meaning you are off work for almost all school holidays).

Your duties and responsibilities:

  • You facilitate and manage the financial administration and guide employees in their development;
  • You optimise processes: you digitise and ensure that systems are set up in a smart way;
  • You ensure compliance with laws and regulations and monitor the reliability of financial data;
  • You implement changes professionally, with an eye for support and cooperation. Not only internally, but also at the schools;
  • You maintain an overview and dare to break patterns in order to further strengthen OMO's services.

As a team leader, you will spend most of your time (± 80%) focusing on continuously improving quality within the organisation. You will be a committed coach for your team and support them where necessary. You will only take on operational tasks yourself when absolutely necessary. You will do all this in an informal and open working environment, where humour, cooperation and a focus on results are central and reinforce each other.

  • You have a higher professional education (HBO) level of working and thinking – preferably, you have completed a financial education programme.
  • You have extensive experience with financial administration and insight into administrative processes.
  • You have a good understanding of modern, future-proof financial management and can form a well-founded opinion on this subject.
  • You know how to implement changes professionally and with support.
  • You combine substantive expertise with an eye for people and collaboration.
  • You identify opportunities that contribute to the further development of the organisation and know how to capitalise on them. Not only for the OMO agency, but also for the affiliated OMO schools.
