What does a SENIOR RISK CONSULTANT do at IMPROVEN?

As a Senior Risk Consultant, you will help organisations strengthen their governance, risk management and compliance. You will advise the board and management on current issues and guide organisations in implementing appropriate control measures, processes and structures.

You will work on a wide range of projects within both the public and private sectors, for example within central government, the healthcare sector, financial institutions and organisations involved in the energy transition. In doing so, you will combine strategic advice with pragmatic implementation.

With your knowledge, experience and powers of persuasion, you are able to explain complex issues in a way that is easy to understand and to get organisations moving.

Some of your duties

  • Providing advice on Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Operational Risk Management (ORM)
  • Developing and implementing governance and risk management frameworks
  • Supporting organisations with ESG, CSRD and sustainability issues
  • Providing advice on compliance issues such as the GDPR, NIS 2, DORA and other relevant legislation and regulations
  • Establishing and strengthening internal control frameworks (including ISAE, ISO and BIO)
  • Carrying out risk analyses, maturity assessments and control reviews
  • Advising on integrity, fraud prevention and business continuity
  • Providing support on cybersecurity and information security issues from a governance and risk perspective
  • Facilitating change processes and raising risk awareness within organisations
  • Contributing to the development of business propositions, knowledge sharing and commercial growth at IMPROVEN

This is where you recognise yourself?

  • You are driven, keenly analytical and eager to go the extra mile to make a real impact
  • You have at least 5 years’ relevant work experience as a consultant, risk manager, compliance officer, auditor or similar
  • You must have at least a a completed higher professional education (HBO) or university (WO) degree, for example in the fields of Business Administration, Law, Criminology, Accountancy, Public Administration or Cybersecurity
  • A completed postgraduate programme such as RA, RE, RO or RC is an advantage
  • You have a broad knowledge of governance, risk and compliance issues
  • You have strong communicative skills and the ability to switch between strategy and operations.
  • You are curious, inquisitive and have a drive to want to please yourself and others develop.
  • You have strong analytical skills and are able to translate complex issues into practical solutions
  • You have an interest in topics such as ESG, GDPR, NIS2, Cybersecurity, Audit, Internal Control or Business Continuity
  • You take ownership and supervise assignments from A to Z, from analysis to implementation
  • You enjoy working within a consultancy environment combining client assignments with building IMPROVEN
  • You have a clear drive to contribute to socially relevant issues
