What does a SENIOR CONSULTANT IN FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT do at IMPROVEN?
In the role of Senior Consultant in Financial Management, the focus is on strengthening financial organisations and making them future-proof. You will assist clients with complex issues relating to financial control, management control, financial processes, governance and performance management. This goes beyond mere advice: you will ensure that improvements are actually implemented and embedded within the organisation.
You operate in an environment with a wide range of stakeholders, from controllers and finance managers to senior management and the board. As a sparring partner, adviser and critical challenger, you bring structure to complex issues, ask the right questions and help organisations make better financial decisions.

Some of your duties
- Optimisation of financial processes; redesign processes such as P2P and R2R to increase efficiency, reduce errors and provide better control information.
- Setting up Shared Service Centres; centralising financial tasks and standardising working methods, leading to cost savings and a higher quality of service.
- Reorganisation of financial governance; helping organisations to structure responsibilities and reporting lines to ensure greater transparency and control.
- Setting up Planning & Control cycles; We are strengthening financial management by implementing clear budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes.
- Improving reporting and performance management; build dashboards and KPI frameworks that provide real-time insight and support decision-making.
This is where you recognise yourself?

- You have 6–10 years’ experience within consultancy, accountancy or finance
- You have a university degree in Business Economics, Finance, Accountancy or similar, supplemented by a RA– or RC-training.
- You have knowledge of Management Control, Management Accounting and Financial Accounting.
- You have experience in improving financial processes, reports, governance and AO/IC.
- You have an affinity for financial information systems and data-driven working.
- You will leave organisations demonstrably better: substantively strong, people-focused and results-driven.
- You communicate clearly, convincingly and purposefully towards management, teams and external stakeholders.
- You translate strategic goals into realistic roadmaps, measurable results and clear accountability.
- You know how to motivate teams, create support and bring people along, even when interests differ or change creates resistance.
