Retrieved from location Zwolle You will become part of the project team of the Telecom Infra division. Telecom Infra consists of several business Lines. The business line for which we are looking for a project controller is the businessline Newbuild. Here, around 250 employees work together with subcontractors to achieve around 65,000 fibre optic connections annually for their largest client KPN.

Your role
In your role as project controller, you will be part of the project team and support the planning and control cycle by making the connection between execution and finance. You independently analyse both financial and operational business results and convert them into useful management information. You also carry out control activities and provide management with relevant steering information on the progress of the operation.
In addition to your role in the project team, you will also work together with the project controllers from the other offices in Nieuwegein, Papendrecht and Son. During the control consultations, the issues you encounter as project controller are discussed. The possible solutions are jointly examined. In addition to your work for the project team at your branch, you may also pick up, work out and implement assignments that go beyond the branch.
Your duties and responsibilities
As project controller, you can work well independently, but in collaboration with the project team. You act as a valuable sparring partner for Project Leaders and Managers. You not only monitor finances, but also progress, quality, risks and proactively advise on strategic decisions.
What you will do, among other things:
- Prepares forecasts and project valuations, tracks them and analyses reality against schedule;
- Asks critical questions, translates data into clear overviews and advises (project) management based on analyses and insights, both of process and financial information;
- Supports at all stages of the project in the role of financial conscience and contributes to the further development of the project organisation and project control;
- Analyses and reports on opportunities and risks of any deviations from the budget.
The challenges in the first 6 months within the role include identifying opportunities for improvement and advising the controller and management on the standardisation of existing practices and procedures, with concrete proposals for quality improvements.
You monitor the progress of the profit and return targets, analyse deviations and make recommendations to mitigate deviations in the future. You also assess ad hoc information needs for reasonableness in relation to the costs and efforts to be made and actively contribute to the further set-up and development of the project team. You constantly strive for improvement and efficiency.
An ERP implementation is scheduled for March 2026, with Hanab already busy with preparations. Your knowledge & experience will be appreciated to keep this on track.
What do you bring?
- A completed college degree in a finance discipline, preferably Business Economics or equivalent;
- Approximately 3 years of relevant work experience in project management, preferably gained within a project organisation;
- Understanding of financial processes and reporting, such as budgets, cost control, and financial reporting;
- Skill in planning, monitoring and reporting project progress;
- Good communication skills as you will be in regular contact with both the project team and management;
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Business Central 4PS (or MS Dynamics Navision);
- Experience in project control within a project-driven organisation(s) is a plus;
- You are assertive, autonomous and a team player.

- A salary of € 4.900, = Based on your knowledge and experience on a full-time contract of 38 hours per week;
