Your role

The Finance & Control department has recently established its digital transformation vision and is looking for an experienced financial controller to take the next step in further professionalising the Financial control department.In this position, you will play a key role within the financial heart of a leading organisation active in both the insurance and funeral industry. You will be the point of contact for accounting and tax issues.
You will make our financial processes smarter and more reliable. You introduce innovative tools such as Power BI, Machine Learning, RPA and ChatGPT to make our financial processes more efficient and future-proof. Your improvements are reflected in reliable reporting and better strategic decision-making.
Your duties and responsibilities
- Preparation and analysis of periodic financial reports. You are responsible for the further development of these reports;
- Preparation of financial statements and supervision of audit;
- Oversee and advise on the application of accounting rules to financial data and reports (management accounting manual);
- Coordinate tax returns (with emphasis on corporate tax) and maintain cooperation with our external tax advisor.
- Initiate projects aimed at financial excellence, e.g. by continuously optimising processes for efficiency.
- Develop and manage Power BI dashboards for financial and operational insights
- Financial forecasting, cash flow management and risk management.
What do you bring?
- From your previous positions, you bring with you knowledge of accounting and controlling. You are ready to apply your experience in the next step of your career.
- Completed HBO or WO education in Accountancy, Business Economics or Fiscal Economics (preferably RA/AA)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience as Financial Controller, within Accountancy or in a similar role
- Strong tax knowledge, especially in the area of corporate taxation
- Experience in projects related to the digitisation or automation of financial processes.
- Analytical ability, strong communication skills and proactive work attitude
- Demonstrable experience with Power BI and translating data into insights
- Experience with financial systems such as AFAS is a plus
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (Wft is an advantage)
- Experience within the insurance industry and affinity with the funeral industry is a plus.
We offer
Will you come and share your knowledge and experience with Monuta? Then of course we offer good terms of employment in return:
- A salary between €4393 and €6683 gross per month based on a 40-hour working week;
- The Individual Incentive Budget (IKB) of 16.33% of your gross salary, consisting of a year-end bonus equivalent to a thirteenth month and holiday allowance. You can choose to have (part of) this budget paid out whenever you want, buy extra holidays, or use it, for example, to follow a study for your personal development;
