KANBAN
Description
Kanban stands for 'visual' and 'map'. Kanban is a way of making steps and tasks in a process visual.
When
In the phases Securing Results and Discharge and in day-to-day steering.
Goals
Efficiently produce and process tasks.
Steps
- Visualise the work using pictures or post-its.
- Consult who picks up what with what priority.
- Move tasks from, for example, To Do to Work in Progress and Done when the status of a task changes.
- Organise regular meetings to discuss tasks and priorities with relevant teams and stakeholders.

Tips:
- Make the work as visual as possible and include important info such as bottlenecks, waiting times et cetera.
- Reduce Work in Progress (WIP) which makes a task go through Kanban faster. Furthermore, this allows you to avoid problems by reducing the chance of changes and switching tasks.
- Focus on the WIP and try to establish tasks and rules through which the flow can be optimised.
- Keep monitoring, changing and improving.
