IMPROVEN conquers the Stelvio for KiKa

Pushing boundaries together for a greater cause

With a team of 12 colleagues plus a support crew, IMPROVEN took part in the Stelvio di KiKa 2026: an impressive sporting challenge in which participants climb the iconic Passo dello Stelvio in Italy to raise money for childhood cancer research. The Stelvio is renowned as one of Europe’s most legendary climbs. For us, taking part in this event was much more than just a cycling event. It was a combination of teamwork, perseverance and social commitment — values that are also central to IMPROVEN.

Months of preparation

The journey to the Stelvio had already begun months before we set foot in the Italian Alps. From various locations, colleagues trained together and individually to prepare for the many metres of elevation gain that lay ahead of them. For example, they trained together on the Posbank to get a taste of the altitude. As well as the physical aspect, they also actively organised fundraising campaigns to raise as much money as possible for KiKa. Their motivation was clear: to contribute to KiKa’s mission of further increasing the chances of recovery for children with cancer.

The climb of a lifetime

On the day of the climb, we were confronted with everything that makes the Stelvio so special: impressive mountain scenery, endless hairpin bends and a climb that pushes you to your absolute limits, both mentally and physically.

Every participant experienced the hike in their own way. Some aimed for a fast time, whilst others focused mainly on reaching the summit. But we all had one thing in common: giving up was not an option.

Along the way, volunteers, supporters and fellow participants created a fantastic atmosphere. It was precisely during the toughest moments that we realised just how powerful that support can be. Every bend brought us closer to the finish line and closer to our shared goal.

Connections both within and outside IMPROVEN

What made this experience even more special was the bond that was formed. Not only between colleagues, but also with customers, business contacts, friends and family who supported us with donations and words of encouragement.
Taking part in Stelvio di KiKa showed that achievements are greater when you work together. The event brought people together around a goal that touches us all: a future in which no child dies of cancer.

Proud of the result

Crossing the finish line at the summit of the Stelvio felt like a victory, but not just because of the sporting achievement. The real success lay in the impact we were able to make together.

Stelvio di KiKa 2026 was a huge success! The 324 cyclists and 34 walkers who took part in the Italian Alps raised a total of over €1,012,000 for KiKa Kinderenkankervrij.

Here at IMPROVEN, we look back with pride on an unforgettable experience full of hard work, emotion and a sense of togetherness. We would like to thank everyone who contributed, donated or cheered us on during this special journey.
Together, we have shown that when you combine ambition with social commitment, you can move mountains – both literally and figuratively.
