Interim Strategic Adviser on Energy Systems
On behalf of a leading organisation in the energy transition, I am currently seeking an interim Strategic Energy Systems Adviser to start immediately. In this role, you will support the organisation from a broad energy systems perspective, drawing on your specific knowledge of and experience with the role of district heating within the future Dutch energy system.
Some of your duties
- Providing substantive support for the further positioning of district heating within the future energy system;
- Demonstrating the societal and systemic value of district heating, including in relation to grid congestion, electrification and total system costs;
- Translating national energy scenarios and policy developments into implications for NDW, regional heating companies and district heating network development;
- Assessing and challenging analyses by external advisers and stakeholders on energy system issues.
So you are a senior subject matter expert who is used to working at the intersection of energy policy, energy system analysis and strategic consultancy.
What are you bringing?
Relevant knowledge and experience may, for example, have been gained in the following areas:
- National Energy System Plan (NPE);
- Netbeheer Nederland’s future scenarios;
- Energy system studies on the societal value of district heating;

- Start: August, for a period of approximately 6 months
- The role is for 2 to 3 days a week
