ENERGY COMPANY NETHERLANDS – NATIONAL HEAT PARTICIPATION
Would you like to use your financial expertise to make an immediate contribution to the energy transition?

At Energie Beheer Nederland, you’ll be working on reliable, affordable and sustainable heating solutions for the Netherlands — with a tangible impact on strategic investment decisions.

EBN is a public energy company and plays a key role in the Dutch energy transition. Together with public authorities, network operators and market players, EBN is working towards a reliable, affordable and sustainable energy system. As part of this, the organisation invests in areas such as geothermal energy, CO₂ storage, hydrogen and district heating systems.

Within the Business Unit National Heat Participation (NDW) EBN develops regional heating companies and district heating networks. With financial clout, specialist expertise and a long-term vision, EBN actively contributes to making the heating supply in the Netherlands more sustainable. In this role, the Financial Business Analyst makes a direct contribution by providing financial justification for investment decisions. You are the leading expert and the financial conscience of the organisation, and as such a valuable adviser to senior management, the Board of Directors and shareholders.

About the role

You will be part of the ambitious National Heat Participation (NDW) team and will also be part of the team of five Business Analysts within EBN. In this way, you will combine the dynamism of the business with the strength of a professional network.

As Financial Business Analyst You will provide financial guidance for the development of regional heating companies. You will draw up and assess business cases, investment proposals and financial models, and translate these into incisive recommendations for senior management, the Board of Directors and shareholders.

You’ll be working at the heart of the energy transition, within the Business Unit National Heat Participation (NDW). In this role, you will establish a financial framework, underpin strategic decisions and ensure that investment decisions are clear, feasible and future-proof.

In practical terms, you will analyse opportunities in the heating market, carry out financial assessments of investments and provide clarity on how different choices impact returns, risk, financing and long-term value. You will therefore act as NDW’s financial conscience and a strong sparring partner for the business.

You will liaise with project teams, management, local authorities, network operators, investors and other public and private partners. Within this environment, you will safeguard EBN’s financial interests and make a direct contribution to the development, acquisition or investment in heating companies.

What do you bring?

You are a finance professional with strong analytical skills who can translate complex financial issues into strategic insights and well-founded decision-making. You feel at home in an environment where not everything is set in stone and are keen to take the initiative to bring structure to the process.

In addition, you will have:

  • A university degree in a financial or economic subject;
  • extensive experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, business control or investment analysis;
  • extensive expertise in financial modelling, business cases, valuations and investment analysis;
  • knowledge of financing structures, scenario analysis and decision-making relating to investments;
  • an interest in the energy transition, district heating and public-private partnerships.
