Purpose of the job
To provide leadership to and co-ordinate the activities of the Management Accounting Department. To generate, analyse and interpret commercial and financial management information obtained from the Group. To give general support and advice to the management team.
Reports to
The Director Management Accounting reports to the Senior Vice President & CFO.
The Director Management Accounting provides leadership to the (Senior) Financial Analyst and the Management Accounting Assistant.

2. Analyse and interpret management information
Result: management information has been analysed and interpreted, in such a way that insight can be obtained in the management of various business activities, so that, where necessary, operations can be purposefully adjusted in time. Forecasts have been analysed and interpreted, in such a way that the management team has relevant information at its disposal to prepare the monthly forecast or results.
3. Support the budget setting process
Result: budgets have been prepared, in such a way that the management of the Group is able to direct the sales and Profit/Loss targets and to evaluate the performance of operating companies.
4. Monitor and check transfer pricing principle
Result: transfer pricing principle has been monitored and checked, in such a way that the maximum result has been achieved by the Group.
5. Optimise the administrative organisation
Result: the accounting organisation has been optimised, in such a way that an efficient and effective administrative organisation is guaranteed within the Group.
6. Inform and advise Management and (Senior) Managers in the field of Management Accounting
Result: management has been given expert advice about Management Accounting by providing the desired commercial and financial information and Management Accounting techniques in time.
7. Participate in project teams
Result: participation in projects, in such a way that professional input has been contributed based on his/her own discipline.
Job profile
Qualifications and experience
- Education: Academic level, trained in the field of business economics.
- Knowledge of accountancy, controlling and financing in general.
- Knowledge of and insight in the company’s administrative organisation.
- Extensive, relevant work experience.
Specific requirements
- Good interpersonal skills to direct the department and to maintain internal and external contacts on various levels and to call CGC’s to account when they violate/neglect rules and procedures (such as diplomacy, the ability to listen, the willingness to help, and the ability to persist in one’s own demeanour).
- Oral and written proficiency in Dutch and English to communicate with various parties of a diverse nature, to explain reports and to give advice.
- Analytical abilities and inventiveness to analyse and interpret information.
- Perseverance when introducing new procedures and guidelines.
- Persuasiveness to point out to operating companies the importance of complying with procedures and rules.
- A service-minded attitude.
